Legacy Foundations, Shimmick’s drilling division, was recently featured in ADSC Magazine for their foundation work on the Automated People Mover (APM) project at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). Contracted by the design-build joint venture, LINXS Constructors, Legacy Foundations is proud to have participated on this transformational project at LAX.
The more than $2 billion project involves the construction of a 2.25-mile elevated guideway train system as part of LAX’s Landside Access Modernization Program. The APM will deliver passengers to and from LAX and the new offsite parking, car rental, and transit facilities. The guideway train system is designed to revolutionize the traveler experience by providing easy access to the airport and LA Metro’s regional transportation system—improving reliability and mobility while reducing congestion and emissions.
