HART Airport Guideway and Stations

As part of the STG Joint Venture, Legacy Foundations managed the drilled shaft and shoring installation for the HART airport guideway project. The 5.2-mile project includes 227 large-diameter drilled shafts and over 100 small diameter shafts, reaching average depths of 200 to 300 feet. The team successfully drilled one shaft 350-feet deep, the deepest shaft of its kind in recorded history. Shaft sizes ranged from 2 to 12 feet in diameter. Most shafts were temporarily cased using an oscillator or rotator. The Legacy team drilled daily in several shifts with up to four simultaneous drilling teams to ensure foundation work stayed ahead of proceeding operations.
